RoaD TRIP - Day 3 - Whistler to Vancouver

We woke up the Friday feeling extremely hungover and smelly. I really needed to poo so i went on a mission. None of the public toilet were open that early so i had to walk a fair way to get to maccas. Grabbed a hash brown n some juice then went to bed.

We went snowboarding on Blackcomb for the day and it was awe
some. It was well slushy round most of the hill but up on the glacier their was still some pow which we hiked for a run.
The park their was pretty impressive. We wernt allowed in the big park but they had some pretty intense features going for them.
We met up with some more friends from lake louise. Rob and Matt and they showed us around a bit and it was a really fun day riding. Alfie had another tremendous fall doing a tree line in which he somehow ended up going backwards out of control and making love to a tree.

That afternoon we really needed to shower so we tried to get into some hotel pools but we couldn't so we decided to drive on to Vancouver. The drive was really nice. the van was working oh so well as we cruised through Vancouver to our friends Jess and Alys house where we showed and slept tremendously.

ROAD TRIP - Day 2 - Lilloet to Whistler

We woke up on Thursday very cold and upset still, it was raining and we still didnt have a clue what we were gonna do.
I decied to hitch hike into town, luckily i got picked up strait a
way by some creep in a ute with a crazy dog that wouldnt shut up. Turned out their was a petrol station about 2km from where we were so i got out their and called up the CAA and then walked back to the car. some dude of a man turned around to come see where i was goin even though i wasnt hitch hiking and took me to the van.
About 20 mins later, Phil Peaches Darren and Dalen rocked
up in thier unit loaded with fireworks and exitement. That was a magical moment.
Not too long later the CAA man showed up and gave us a jump. The boys were still stoked on fireworks so they lit off a couple to lighten up the mood. somehow the van was actully moving we were incredibly releved that the motor still worked as it was able to drive all through town and up to the Mechanics which was strangly also a wreckers. The mech
anic was a hell stoner and was trying to sell us weed.

They hooked us up with a new Alternator and cables for $160 and we rolled on out of their
stoked as all hell.

The drive over to Whister was awsome with lots of Lakes, rivers and cliffs.

We got told by the mechanic about a fairly long and steep downhill section that he recomended putting it down a few gears and slowly tapping the breaks to slow down and when the brakes start to smell to pull over.
We pulled over about half way down but as soon as we stopped the right wheels started to slide leaving us incredibly vunrable to flipping down a fairly steep hill. We were sketching out hardcore so we asked a passer by what to do and he helped us navigate out of the situation. It was definetly a close call.

We finally got to whistler about 4pm and we found the other boys van in the carpark.
We then cruised on to a lake so the boys could "Shower" in a frezzing cold lake. As we pulled up we noticed a little black bear just cruising in the park. Daylen threw a carrot at it and scared it up a tree.

After the lake we went back to the carpark to set up for the night, have a few beers then headed out. It was weird being an underage again but we managed to get into Moe Joes Nightclub and get fairly intoxicated. Alfie had an epic fall which has definetly been a highlight of the trip.

ROAD TRIP - Day 1 - Lake Louise to Lilloet

Wednesday the 6th of may we finally said our goodbyes to lake louise and attempted to make it to whistler to snowboard the next day.

The Van was running sweet until about three quarters of the way when we had stopped to fill her up about halfway at a town called Kamloops and she wouldnt start
her up. Turns out the Alternator wasnt working so the battery wasn't charging forcing us to have to jump start it every time we stopped.
From this time on she was running incredibly bad. going up hills we were cruising at 10kmph.
We tried to make it to whistler but as we were on the turn off to Lilloet but as we turned she ran out of fuel. We had to call the CAA (like the equivalent of the RACV) to come give us fuel and jump start it. We finally got to the petrol station and filled up then she wouldn't start again leaving us to wait for the CAA guy to come start us up again. At this stage we were unsure of what to do but we tried to keep driving.

We made it 5km out of town when she finally broke down.

The "Death bed"

We were devastated thinking we had paid this money to fix her up and we were stuck in the middle of nowhere.
We did not have a clue what we were gonna do because we thought the motor was fucked and we had to take here to the wreckers.
We just decided to sleep their the night and deal with it in the morning.

Spring time

Well the season is quickly is suddenly coming to an end as the slow melts and people start to leave. Its the time were I've realised just how awesome this place has been. We've met so many great people from all across Australia and the world. Ive also found it weird that all our mate have been significantly older. I have some good mates that are 10 years older than me which is scary.
One of which gave me the awsomest camper van in the universe :D Its a 1979 Ford Eco van 150 called the nomad. Its got 2 beds, a fridge and a stove so we are going to drive it to Vancouver island to go surfing for a week.

Sorry i haven't updated this in a while. Not too much has gone down really. Just Working, Snowboarding and getting drunk. We did check out the Chateau the other week...

Today was a fun day. It was over 0 degrees for once which was weird. The snow went all funny. We rode the terrain park all morning, taking a few piccys then had lunch at temple.
We then went for a few runs then headed home.

In the arvo we had a little session in the carpark at out house. I set up a fun little bonk n got a vid on it.

Sorry i haven't updated this thing in a while. i ran outta Internet last month.
We finally got some snow here at Lake Louise so the last few days have been really fun. it think we almost got 40cm.

Last week we went on an adventure to Panorama Mountain Resort in BC which was really fun. It was about a 2 hour drive. They had an awesome park there but they were definitely running low on snow.
Here's a little vid of one of the boxes

After panorama we went to Fairmont hot springs which was a real disappointment. We were expecting real rock pools but all we got was a  warm public swimming pool. It was weird how they had built a whole town out of such a shitty attraction.

Works been fun lately. Ive been working outside on the BBQ which is good fun. It doesn't get too busy and we don't really have to do much but flip burgers and chuck them on plates. Much easier than inside,  No oil and we get fresh air :D

Mikey, Wes and I are gonna have a little picture session today so i will update this asap.

Im alive

Sorry i havent updated this blog in a while. Ive been fairly busy with work and a few little road trips.

We got our first taste of powder last week when we got about 60cm in 2 days. I was working but they gave us plenty of ride breaks and i got the best ride of my life 4 times in a row.

Our roomate carlito (aka dad) decided to take us to the Casino in between banff and calgary last week which was small yet very fun. didnt loose too much money.

On Monday our friend jeff took Michael, Rosi and myself to calgary. We went to a big shopping center and then to Calgary Olympic park. Olympic Park was insane, it was really windy and it was icy as all hell but the park there was amazing. They also had a replica of the 22ft superpipe used in the olympics next year. It was ridiculous. I was only almost making it to the top of the walls and was shitting myself.

After COP we went to a superstore which was super fun, Its pritty much a store that sells everything you can think of really cheap. i almost baught a live crab to go wake wez up with but then i relized i have no money due to buying a new board.

The next day Jeff took michal and I to Kimberly which turned out to be balls so we did a run then drove 2 hours to Fernie. Fernie was much better, unfortunatly it was really windy so the powder had blown away. On the way home we stopped at some awsome petrol station that sold fireworks and booze. It was epic.

The weather has warmed up at the moment and we have finally seen temperatures above 0 degrees which supprisingly is really warm.

Ill update whenever these videos load. peace
