COLD

Hey people.

sorry i havnt updated this thing in a while. Its been way to cold to take pictures or video latly.

Its regularly been round -40 for the past week so taking gloves off is a death wish. i got mild frostbite on my ear at the moment which isnt fun.

I started work as a cook in the lodge of ten peaks a couple of weeks ago now and it was fun their but 2 days ago i got promoted to temple lodge. This is awsome as now i get payed to ride to work then get free food all day. yes, slowly i am getting fatter day by day. 

Also i moved out of the hostel into the Charleston Resedence (Chuck town) which is awsome. i have draws to put my stuff in now :D 

All my buddies are here now so we got retarded friday night. i was still drunk at work on saturday.

well soon i will get some pictures as the tempretures are supposed to be rising soon.

After the ridiculous 14 hour bus trip last night i finally arrived in Lake Louise around 9 am where it had been snowing. It was inly bout -7 which didnt feel too bad. We rocked up to the main housing building expecting to be staying their but they decided we are going to be living in the hostel round the corner. This kind of sucks as their are 2 bunk beds in the small room, no shelving so we are going to have to live out of our bags unless we get some draws or something. Theirs barley enough room to fit 4 bags in our room anyway. 

The hostel is really quiet and seems as though not to much goes on here. The showers are shit and its proving to be quite unlivable even with only two people in the room.

Well after that bitch on to some good stuff. Had a ride today and its incredible. The snow was better than any powder day I've had in Australia and they only got 2cm the night before. The park was fun and it was cool to just get back in the rhythm of riding. 

We caught the chair up with one of the world cup women's racers Britt. She's coming 3rd in the world at the moment which was pretty cool. I'm not sure when ill get the opportunity to film but it should hopefully be soon.

well i got 1 photo for my efforts today.

i did catch the seabus over to north vancouver but my camera ran out of battery but it did have a great view of the city.

Finally in Vancouver. its pretty insane to say the least.

I'm staying in the Samson backpacker and its really cool. heaps of awsome people and a mad pub down stars with cheap food n piss. the only downside to this place is its location right in downtown Vancouver. 

Got fairly drunk the first night. started way to early because the sun went down at about 3.30 so i started drinking not long after that. one of the guys in our room got kicked out for peeing out the window haha

Their is homeless people everywhere hastling you for money. its mostly in this area of town but its still pretty scary to see these people. On top of that their is a ridiculous amount of drug dealers and gangsters. Yesterday morning when i went down to get my tax number with a friend, as soon as we walked out of the hostel door this due asks ask if w had weed and i was like nah sorry dude and this dudes cracked the shits n gone "fuck you, you fucking asshole" so we thought it would be smart to walk the opposite direction than him.

Some of the bums are really nice but, this one scary looking fat African bloke was really nice in asking us for money. his gone "Hey boys, do you mind if i ask you a question? do you have any spare change i could use to buy some food?" he was really cool in his approach but i'm pretty sure he was on something.

To be honest the city is exactly like that GTA game, the cars, the people and the landscape is ridiculously simular.

cant wait for the boys to come, their gonna have a ball.

Also had to buy a phone yesterday. they dont sell sim card at many places but the ones they do it ends up costing bout $70 so it was cheaper to buy a phone.

TOMMOROW

Its my final day in Australia now and i finally get to leave this shitty weather. I was hoping to have had a mini summer before i left but the gods did not look after me this time. Surfs been shit for about 3 weeks and i think I'm going to miss that a lot. Its weird saying goodbye to everyone but it's great to hear all my mates are having an awesome time on schoolies. Sounds ridiculously wild and I'm sure ill never hear the end of all the stories. Mums been insanely good organising me so this trip is going to be great. 

Well I'm all packed now and ill post some pics or video once I'm in Vancouver.

LAKE LOUISE - 8/11/2008 (opening day)

This trip keeps on sneaking up on me and now their is only 25 days left in the country.

Exams are almost over so the excitement is growing rapidly.

This excitement was boosted today after i found out that jumps are going to be in the terrain park at Lake Louise again. Today is also opening day at Louise and it looks like theirs snow on the ground which is great.

I booked a 21 day contiki tour through Europe this morning . That is going to be amazing even if i will be broke as all hell.

Introduction

Our town for 6 months

From the 8th of December 2008, my employment at Lake Louise will begin.

Somehow I'm a cook i really don't know how considering i quite clearly applied to be a Snowboard Instructor. This trip is going to mean allot to me as it will sort of symbolise me growing into a (not so) responsible adult. 

Im sick of the school life right. Its left me with no motivation to study and to just have fun with the great friends i have made. The social aspect of school has over the past year changed dramatically for me as I have relised just how lame and boring it really is. I see no reason in going out on the weekends and just getting pissed as fuck for the sake of getting pissed. The times I've enjoyed most this year have been the trips away with my friends far away from frankston and the arrogant lives of the people here. 

To get away from here has been a dream ive had for a few years now. It started after becoming addicted to the alpine culture up at falls creek. The good time vibe and the good nature of the people (appart from that absolute fuck wit of a man Benny Prezeneger, FUCK YOU by the way) pritty much made my mind for me. My good friend Munks decided that he would come with me and not too long after we started orginising our trip (originally to Northstar at Tahoe) two more of our good pals Samuel and Wes decided to join. I cannot wait to finally finish school and just get out of here

Anyways, I'm going to use this blog to document my trip which only just starts in Lake Louise. Hopefully by this time next year i should have travelled to places most will never go in their lives.
